Salary Range: MXN 70,000 – 79,000 gross monthly
Role Overview:
Atos is looking for a Mainframe System Programmer to support the installation, maintenance, and administration of the z/OS Mainframe operating system. This role plays a key part in ensuring system reliability, performance, and security while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a global and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, upgrade, and administer the z/OS operating system, including RSU maintenance
Perform system changes in line with Atos security standards and internal controls
Provide IPL support and resolve JES2/JES3 issues
Maintain TSO/ISPF environments, including CLIST, REXX, and PROC maintenance
Perform MVS tuning and manage PARMLIB
Create and manage LPARs
Execute SMP/E activities including Receive, Apply, USERMOD, and exit management
Install and upgrade ISV products such as CA1, CA7, CA11, Syncsort, File-Aid, Abend-Aid, Mainview, System Automation, ASG, and BMC products
Support testing, implementation, and deployment of new or improved systems and product upgrades
Collaborate with internal teams, management, and clients to drive continuous service improvement
Participate in on-call rotation as required
Must-have Qualifications / Skills:
Proven experience in installation, maintenance, problem diagnosis, and administration of z/OS
Strong working knowledge of SMP/E
Proficiency in JCL, ISPF, REXX, CLIST, and SMP/E
Experience with multiple mainframe products including security, resource, performance, storage, scheduling, application, and hardware management tools
Verbal and written proficiency in English
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a relevant technical certification
Professional Experience:
Experience supporting enterprise mainframe environments
Hands-on involvement in z/OS installations and upgrades
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
Analytical mindset with a focus on system stability and service quality
Good-to-have Qualifications / Skills:
Experience with multiple ISV products across the mainframe ecosystem
Familiarity with large, complex, or global IT service environments
System-level experience with CICS, IMS, DB2, Communications, and MQ is a strong plus; candidates with this experience will be prioritized for interview
