Senior Mainframe Application Developer
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced individual to join a team of software developers in support of our primary life insurance policy administration system. That system – CyberLife - is a legacy mainframe application that administers the large majority of our life insurance business. We have a very experienced staff of developers, but need additional capacity to develop new products, expand our capabilities, and move us toward a more digital, real-time processing system.
What you will do
Participate in daily Agile/Kanban ceremonies
Assess new requirements to provide high-level estimates
Design and document system integrations and coding enhancements
Develop secure, performant code following team best practices
Execute unit testing and Support integration, acceptance and regression testing
Coordinate the movement of code between our various technical environments
Support resolution of critical production support issues
Participate in design and code reviews
Mentor team members as necessary providing subject matter expertise
Building and maintaining APIs to expose real-time data.

Compensation
Salary Range: $106,400 - $177,300 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.
Who You Are:
You have a high school diploma (required), plus a BA/BS in a related field preferred.
Experienced with CyberLife, Life70, or a similar mainframe-based policy administration system
Collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive, Agile environment
Strong decision-maker with the ability to solve complex technical and business problems
Accountable and committed to delivering high‑quality, reliable solutions
Comfortable taking ownership and helping define how your role contributes to overall team success
Technically proficient across the following areas:
Platforms: Mainframe, CICS, WebSphere, AWS
Languages: COBOL, Assembler, MVS JCL
Databases: VSAM, DB2, SQL
Development Tools: TSO/ISPF, Micro Focus COBOL
Web Services: SOAP and REST APIs
Additional Technologies: ACORD, FTP, JSON, XML
